MARCH 5, 2026 MEETING POSTPONED
Due
to the high likelihood of icy roads during our meeting time, we will
postpone this week's meeting to next Thursday which had been scheduled
as a build session. Please make every effort to attend next Thursday,
the 12th since we will be doing our final planning for the contest.

Our History
Wings & Wheels
Modelers was formed in 1990 and affiliated with
IPMS in 1993. The club is a diverse group, with more than 40 members
who cover every aspect of modeling subjects, including: aircraft,
armor, automotive, ships, sci-fi, figures, and other modeling
interests.
Meetings are on the first Thursday of the month at the First
Congregational Church in West Springfield (no affiliation) starting at
7:00 PM. Meetings are open to everyone. Please join us!
Starting
in 2024, the club began "Build Nights" generally on two additional
Thursdays of the month at the same church meeting location.
Modelers bring in a current project to work on and spend two
hours (7 - 9 PM) in hobby conversation and construction progress. No
formal club business is conducted. It's a great time to not
only
see what others are working on, but a way to actually see
other modeler's techniques and tips.
The club sponsors ValleyCon, our annual contest in Chicopee, MA on the
last Sunday in March or first Sunday in April, depending on the Easter
holiday dates.
Mission Statement
Wings & Wheels is an organization maintained for the benefit of
its members and to promote plastic scale modeling in all its forms. The
club is an IPMS–affiliated regional club serving Western New England
and is open to anyone with an interest in modeling, regardless of age,
gender, subject matter or materials used.
The main purpose of the club is to come together to have fun and enjoy
plastic scale modeling. This is done by participating in monthly
meetings, circulating modeling news of interest to members, sharing
tips and techniques, displaying finished work and work in progress,
hosting our annual contest and other events, traveling to events of
other clubs together and general good fellowship.
The club supports other modeling clubs’ events in our region, IPMS
events, and the development of modeling interest and skills in children
under 16 years old. We hold one annual contest, ValleyCon, and sponsor
displays, trips and other club events from time to time. Monthly
meetings are informal and open to non-members.
The club also has an active
facebook page.
